    Solar Thermal Hybrid Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioners are split systems that are solar assisted and take the improvements of all previous designs to the next level. By capturing thermal (ambient) energy, the amount of work the condenser does is reduced under full load and significantly extends the time the compressor is cycled off. The solar collector absorbs thermal solar energy by using copper heat conducting inner coils. This allows the unit to use the stored energy in the solar collector to continue the refrigeration cycle while the compressor is off, utilizing a larger stored amount of refrigerant liquid in the condenser. The collector, compressor and the condenser have been designed to work in tandem to allow the compressor to operate more efficiently. The compressor when operating more efficiently consumes less electricity, resulting in reduced running costs.

    Installation must be completed by a licensed HVAC technician to ensure any issues encountered in the future are not due to improper installation/workmanship. Even though this installation is below the expertise requirements of central AC systems, these are not "plug-n-play" units that can be properly installed without certain tools and prior HVAC - electrical knowledge.
    Does it run off the sun?
    It uses the sun to heat the solar thermal panel to then transfer that heat to the refrigerant which then makes the unit use less electricity from the grid.
